Ducksters http://www.ducksters.com/games/mathchallenge.php. It is similar to our example ‘cool math’ website. It has a variety collection of games like: sport, science, geography and history.

Games' example:

-           First game is the ‘math challenge’, which has a table of subtraction, addition, multiplication and division selections. Also, it’s got a difficulty option that starts with 1 for easiest and ends with ‘yikes’ being the most difficult. Another fun math game called ‘fast math’; it makes kids calculate faster at math by doing the computational exercises. It’s timed and has mixed types of calculation problems like: subtraction, addition, multiplication and division.

• The website is helpful for kids from (gr3 to 6). It does help them do faster calculation.

• Students/kids should have skills for using the computer at a first place, having background of how to add, multiply…etc

•  It can also help kids have a better understanding of math by going through the subjects. Every subject has examples and step by step explanation.

• Read the instructions underneath the game before you start.

The match game for math I found is challenging http://www.mathsisfun.com/games/math-match-game.html.

Students can have a choice whether they want to play it using shapes, shape names, add, multiply or mixed. Also, it has algebra where you have to match equivalent terms.

Example, X= 2 matches –X = -2X +2

 

• Students should know geometry to recognize the geometric shapes and their names. Also, students who would like to play this matching game must have algebraic skills to be able to match linear equations…etc

• This game could be helpful for students in their 8^th grade. It might be fun while studying algebra at school - they get to practice their knowledge through an algebraic game.

• Have a pen and paper, you might need to use them if you are doing hard level of algebra.

I can’t think of any good videos other than Khan Academy https://www.youtube.com/user/khanacademy. I find their videos so helpful! Math, physics, computer science and many more…etc

 

• So, khan academy has a website that any student can use as well as a youtube channel. After watching the videos of certain topics, you can test your skills on their site.

•  I think it’s best for college students, they have high level of educational examples. I would suggest it to anyone majoring in physics or math and for those who are interested to learn programming.

• Have a youtube channel to be able to save their helpful videos and have them as a reference for future.

Even though I neither have a smartphone nor any type of social media, I chose this app for Ipads that I found after googling. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/math-ref/id301384057?mt=8

I like how it deals with graphing, as it shows in the picture the midpoint, X and Y axis, slope and distance between points…etc

•   I defiantly see it helpful for precalculus or algebra. It can be a useful “corrector” tool after solving graphical questions.
